Swine Flu

I read about swine flu today. Swine flu is a respiratory disease, caused by influenza type A which infects pigs. There are many types, and the infection is constantly changing. Until now it has not normally infected humans, but the latest form clearly does, and can be spread from person to person - probably through coughing and sneezing.

Symptoms of swine flu in humans appear to be similar to those produced by standard, seasonal flu. These include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, chills and fatigue. So far, most cases of swine flu around the world appear to be mild, albeit with diarrhoea more common than is found in seasonal flu.

The current pandemic alert level as indicated by the World Health Organisation is phase 5. To stay safe, we can avoid close contact with people who appear unwell and people who have fever and cough. Also, we should maintain good hygiene to reduce transmissions of viruses.

I felt worried and sad towards this event. Imagine it being spread around the world. Oh my god!!! It'll kill so many people! Innocent lives will be taken away. That will be a very sad scenario.

People, please take care... <3

Chicken a la Carte

I watched this clip before, on the choir blog. It is about a father who went around fast food restaurants collecting leftovers for children in the village. The people in that village are all very poor, and they cannot afford to buy any food for themselves. When the father comes back, all the children in the village came running towards him, feeling very happy and excited.

I felt rather sad and disheartened after viewing the video. People in Singapore are really so fortunate, having nice clothes to wear and nice food to enjoy. Yet, they are still not satisfied with the life they are living now.

The moral of the story is to urge people not to be so fussy on stuffs, and not to waste the food. After watching this clip, i learn that we must not be so spoilt. I hope that everybody can learn something after watching this clip. Enjoy! =]
